END TERRORISM IN NIGERIA NOW! ~ Majeobaje Movement.
Majeobaje totally condemns the spate of violent attacks all over Nigeria but most recently in Kaduna State, which continue to terrorize Nigerians and devastate innocent lives. We wish the departed souls perpetual rest in peace, the wounded and the bereaved God’s abiding Grace, and the rest of Nigeria God’s protection.
This is not the time for reproach or blame games, but a time to bury our dead and come together to support our gallant rank and file soldiers who, along with vigilantes and hunters, are fighting heroically to stem this tide of Terrorist invaders.
How do we stop these attacks quickly before Nigerians totally lose faith in government?
The Federal Government needs to encourage Nigerians to lawfully defend themselves.
To do otherwise in the erroneous belief that empowered Nigerians would break up the country is counterproductive and, in light of the increasing terrorist attacks, indefensible.
Government at all levels and the national security apparatus must become more efficient and more responsive, by working across platforms and with communities to be better able to provide the security and services that the citizens need.
We welcome the timely Report on Terrorism in the Middle Belt recently brought to public attention by Baroness Cox of Britain’s House of Lords.
The findings are fully consistent with reports reaching Majeobaje from every zone of Nigeria about violence meted out on innocent citizens by Fulani militia and, inadvertently during counterattacks, by vigilantes.
We urge government to give the report the serious attention it deserves instead of typically playing the ostrich with the nation’s existential challenges.
Time is fast running out on us!
We also appeal to the Federal Government and influential Nigerians to provide for the victims promptly and adequately, and to find a permanent solution to these incessant breaches of our national security.
In so doing, they must not shy away from recognizing the wind of insecurity blowing across the world and the need for Nigeria to adopt international best practice by bringing the security infrastructure closer to the people.
Finally, we appeal to fellow Nigerians to be patient and not to take the law into our own hands. God bless the SW States. God bless Nigeria.
