Ajimobi legacy Forum congratulates Tinubu on emergence as APC presidential candidate
Tinubu’s victory deserving —- Florence Ajimobi
The emergence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the just concluded party primary has been described as the icing in a life- long career of public service, administrative sagacity and a fitting tribute to a man who gave his all to the entrenchment of democracy in Nigeria.
This was the verdict of Dr (Mrs.) Florence Ajimobi, wife of the former Governor of Oyo State and the President of the Senator Abiola Ajimobi Foundation (SAAF).
A statement issued on Wednesday by Bolaji Tunji , former Special Adviser, Communication and Strategy to Senator Abiola Ajimobi, after the declaration of the former Governor of Lagos State and Leader of APC as the party’s flag bearer, quoted Mrs Ajimobi as saying that with Asiwaju Tinubu’s track record of service to the nation, his commitment in the enthronement of democracy in Nigeria, working with like minds to bring to fruition the idea of APC, identifying and building talents across the country irrespective of religion or ethnicity have clearly shown Asiwaju Tinubu as the long awaited saviour that will take the country to where it ought to be.
“ I am sure that my late husband, would be pleased with the turn of event that saw the emergence of Asiwaju Tinubu, being a core loyalist of his”, she said.
Similarly, the Ajimobi Legacy Forum (ALF) has described the emergence of Asiwaju Tinubu as the beginning of good things for the country.
According to the Chairman, Chief Kunle Sanda and Secretary, Olugbenga Olayemi, the emergence of Asiwaju Tinubu clearly shows that the majority of the delegates at the APC convention realised the worth and contribution of Tinubu over the years in the entrenchment of democracy in the country. “ Asiwaju is a thorough bred Progressives whose records of achievement as a major force in the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) that saw to the end of military rule in Nigeria, is indelibly written in our Country’s march towards democratic governance. But what sets him apart is his ability to identify and nurture talents. Examples abound across the country and in our political landscape.
As the then governor of Lagos State, he laid the foundation of what Lagos is today. The opportunity has therefore presented itself for Asiwaju to again add his exemplary touch towards making Nigeria the country of our dream. We know he will not disappoint, going by his antecedent. ALF urged all Nigerians to queue behind Asiwaju during the general election coming up next year as he is the only visionary leader who can take Nigeria to that promise land”.
