ALGON National President Salutes Oyo ALGON Members

The President of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, Hon. Kolade David Alabi, has, recently, congratulated all members of ALGON, Oyo state chapter, for successful and peaceful resumption into their respective offices after what the national president called unconstitutional, tyrannical and flagrant sack of the democratically elected chairmen who are bona fide members of ALGON.

In a letter the ALGON national president wrote to Prince Ayodeji Abass-Alesinloye, the chairman of ALGON, Oyo state chapter, Hon Kolade Alabi saluted the Oyo ALGON members for their resilience, courage and cerebral forthrightness while the flagrant abuse of power lasted.

Referring to the extant judicial decisions of the Supreme Court of Nigeria restraining state governors from sacking democratically elected chairmen and inaugurating caretaker chairmen to man local councils and the letter written by the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, to Oyo state government to allow the democratically elected chairmen to return to office, Hon Kolade David Alabi urged the ALGON members, Oyo state chapter, to brace up for the task of bringing accelerated developments to their respective local governments so the people at the grassroots could begin to enjoy dividends of democracy.
