Fresh crisis as Oyo South senatorial Primary rerun ends in fiasco

For the second time within 48 hours, the Oyo South Senatorial Primary of the All Progressives  Congress (APC) has ended in fiasco. This is because the re-run election which was held at La Chatteau hotel, Bodija has again ended with over voting.
It would be recalled that the Tuesday’s rerun was necessitated by what the party hierarchy in the State observed was over voting in the first election which was held on Sunday. A claim that had been disputed by many Constituents in Oyo South senatorial district.
In the Sunday election, leading candidate, Mr Kolapo Kola-Daisi had won with 121 votes while his closest rival was only able to poll 107 votes. A pressure group within the APC in Oyo State, Oyo Progressive Front on Monday had expressed dissatisfaction to the planned rerun describing it as exercise in futility. The Group had alleged plans by a leading governorship candidates and his loyalists to favour the candidate of a former Governor of the State, using the State Exco.
According to the Group, the rerun was a plan to subvert the will of the people as expressed in the Primary that was won by Kola-Daisi.
