… Saki, Nigeria – Rep. Olajide Olatubosun organised 5th Annual Agricultural empowerment for Farmers.

As part of his efforts to support agricultural development, Rep. Olajide Olatubosun, representing Atisbo/ Saki – East / Saki – West Federal Constituency, in the House of Representatives has trained and empowered over two hundred Farmers in his constituency.

Beneficiaries were trained in modern Agronomic practices and farm inputs, which include Fertilizers, (NPK 15:15:15 and Urea) Maize seed, Herbicides, (Pre and post emergent herbicides) and Insecticides, were distributed to farmers across the three local government areas in the constituency.

Speaking on the occasion, Rep. Olatubosun emphasised the importance of agriculture in the economic development of the country, particularly his constituency and generally the Oke – Ogun area of Oyo – State.
He said: “As a people, Agriculture is our main occupation, and continuous investment in the whole gamut of the Agricultural value – chain is our surest way out of poverty”
it is therefore important that we support our farmers to boost food production in order to enhance food security.
He also pledged to continue to support the agricultural sector in his constituency and beyond.

“I am committed to continuously support Agriculture by ensuring that our farmers are exposed to modern Agronomic practices and have access to necessary farm inputs to increase their productivity,”.

The beneficiaries of the empowerment expressed their gratitude to the lawmaker, describing the annual Agricultural empowerment programme has a novel idea and a timely intervention that has assisted many to improve yield on their farms, improve their income and ultimately enhance their standard of living.
