PROJECT UPDATE : ETI-OSA-LEKKI-EPE EXPRESSWAY MASSIVE ROAD PROJECT (Eleko Junction to EPE T Junction)
In November 2020, Governor Sanwo-Olu flagged off the 18.75KM Eti-Osa-Lekki-Epe reconstruction, and also promised that the project would revolutionize Lagos economy.
At the launch of the project at Eleko, Sanwo-Olu said government knew the importance of the Eti-Osa-Lekki-Epe Expressway which houses the Lekki Free Trade Zone and thriving estates businesses.
He said transportation and traffic Management were the pillar of his administration’s THEMES Agenda aimed at bringing economic prosperity to stakeholders on the axis and commerce to the state.
Today, here’s a breakdown of the ongoing works at the project sites
THE ONGOING ETI-OSA-LEKKI-EPE EXPRESSWAY MASSIVE ROAD PROJECT (Eleko Junction to EPE T Junction)
DETAILS:
– Flagged Off on Nov 1, 2020
– Contractor: Craneburg Construction
– Rigid Pavement (Concrete road)
– Project Distance: 18.75 Km (Phase 1)
– 6-lane dual Carriageway with dedicated truck lane for heavy duty vehicles
– 1.5km Pedestrian Walkway and Drainage on both sides
– When completed, perennial traffic gridlocks would be eliminated, improvement of socio-economic activities in and around Lekki-Epe Expressway and surroundings, reduce travel time etc
– Expected Completion time: First Quarter of Year 2022
– Second Phase will start (later in the year) at Abraham Adesanya Roundabout to Eleko Junction with a span of 26.7km.
– Mr Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu says he is optimistic the project would be delivered on record time, charging the contractor to scale up the pace of work.
