DIsregard the antics of hungry politicians. I’m Still in the race – Adelabu
Gubernatorial candidate of the Accord party in Oyo state, Chief Adebayo Adelabu has declared that no amount of maneuvering and manipulation from hungry and desperate politicians would deter him from contesting this Saturday Gubernatorial election.
Adelabu in a statement in Ibadan said this while reacting to the purported endorsement of Governor Seyi Makinde by some members of the executives of Accord in the state.
According to him, “I remain resolute in my desire to govern our darling state. No amount of frustration would discourage me from pursuing my goal. I resigned from a plum position as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria because I believe I have the
capacity to rescue the state from misgovernance and maladministration. I know this is part of the sacrifice I have to make in order to move Oyo state forward.
Chief Adelabu assured all his supporters and the electorates to disregard the action of these hungry politicians who have betrayed the trust the party leadership at the national headquarters have in them.
“It is obvious they don’t have the love of the people at heart. They are after their pockets but we will not be distracted by their antics. We know this is one of their desperate moves to keep this directionless administration of Engr Seyi Makinde in power.
“I wonder why a sitting Governor who is claiming to have performed well in office is running from pillar to post to get endorsement from hungry politicians. If truly Governor Seyi Makinde has performed, he ought to have left everything to the electorates to decide. As for me, the people of Oyo state are the one to decide whether they want a governor that cannot guarantee their security to continue. The people are free to decide if they want a governor that has crippled local government admistration in the state to continue among other atrocities committed by Governor Seyi Makinde “,he submitted.
