Accord Assembly candidates condemns politics of cash and carry, affirms support for Adelabu
House of Assembly candidates on the platform of Accord have condemned what it described as cash and carry politics as evidenced in the anti-party activities of the State Chairman, Kolade Ojo and Secretary, Mr Dairo.
Reacting to the purported endorsement of Gov Seyi Makindeby the State Chairman, an action that has been denied by the National Chairman, the aspirants said Ojo has actually shown his true colour as a traitor masquerading as a leader of the party. “ The latest action of the State chairman and Secretary have shown to every one that their only interest is in their pocket. Their motive is purely mercantilist. We all trusted him, not knowing he was a traitor in our midst. On this issue, they are on their own.”
In a statement issued on behalf of the aspirants by Hon BolajiTunji, who is aspiring to represent Ogbomoso North in the State House of Assembly after an emergency meeting , the Accord candidates said the action of the State chairman wasaimed at sabotaging the aspiration of Chief Adebayo Adelabu.
“ Among the three major aspirants, Adelabu towers above them. This latest action is therefore to sabotage the effort of all Accord members who have worked and are still working for the aspiration of all candidates of the party especially, our governorship candidate, but we know that by the grace of the Almighty God, it will not succeed “, they said.
The State Assembly members have therefore dissociated from the rumoured support for Gov Makinde. “ We can tell you that the chairman and Secretary are on their own. They are not speaking for us. At no point was any meeting held to support any candidate except Adelabu and we know that God will vindicate us with our victory and Adelabu’s victory on Saturday. ”
