Seyi Makinde and the fallacy of deception
Like a smoke, one true’s intention can never be hidden. No matter how hard one tries. It always reveals itself.
The suspension of Two Teachers of Queen School, Apata, further exposes lies behind the Oyo State Free Education Policy under Governor Makinde.
For context read this (https://nigerianalertng.com/alleged-queens-school-saga-makinde-replaces-sangodoyin-with-olaleye/)
It will be recalled that Governor Makinde had declared free education in the Primary and Secondary Schools in the State, immediately he was sworn – in as the new Executive Governor of Oyo State
He condemned N3000 (Three Thousand Naira) being paid by each Student as Development Levy for education in the State, which was agreed upon by the Parents and Teachers Association, before he assumed the mantle of leadership in the State.
He boasted that he would make quality education free in the State, by providing Text books, Notes, Exercise Books, Chairs, Tables, and employing the required number of quality teachers, under a serene environment in the State.
His Predecessor, Governor Abiola Ajimobi, was paying the WAEC fees of the Students at the time Governor Makinde took over. But he (Makinde) had chosen not to follow suit, which means, with his free and quality education, it would have not gone anywhere or what is the essence of offering education when it would not end with a certificate as the large number of indigent students would not be able to afford the WAEC fees as it is presently playing out.
The product of these so called “quality education” would be back to square one, as their academic qualification would only be the “Primary School Leaving Certificate”
This is a proof that his much published Free and quality education is targeted at raising only the Children of the Rich, who were born with Silver Spoons.
Presently, quality education eludes the State, as there is noticeable shortage of Books, Notes, Exercise Books, Tables, Chairs, and even Teachers, which made the Parents and Teachers Association of Queen School, Apata, to raise money to employ additional Fifty Two Teachers, in order to secure the future of their promising Children.
The Parents, Teachers and Students were glad at this positive turn of event, and we urge these Associations in other Schools to borrow leaf from Queen School, Apata, in order to escape the legendary damages that the present system are putting in place of education in Oyo State.
To save the face of the Governor, who doubles as a pathological lier, the Oyo State Ministry of Education, under the leadership of the Commissioner for Education, Prof Daud Sangodoyin, hurriedly announced the suspension of the Two Teachers of Queen School, Apata, Ibadan, who were in charge of collection of donations by the Parents of the Students of the School.
This unpopular act was greeted by protests by the Parents, who are unanimously calling for the reinstatement of these innocent Teachers.
The Commissioner claimed that the Association ought to have secured his approval before doing so and that Eighteen out of the newly deployed Sixty Eight Corps members to the Ministry will be posted to Queen School, Apata, to bridge the gap of Fifty Two Teachers approved by the Parents and Teachers Association.
Is this mathematics of Eighteen Corps members replacing Fifty Two Teachers logical in his professorial mind?
Also, if he had prior information, he would definitely overruled the plan to employ additional Teachers, to make it look as if they are actually providing enough hands
“No matter how a lie travels, truth will surely catch up with it, one day”
Governor Seyi Makinde has decided to continue using propaganda to destroy the legacies of the Late Chief Obafemi Awolowo and that of his Predecessor, Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
We call on the good people of Oyo State to start working round this failed system of Education in Oyo State, either by employing more Teachers or take your Children to the Private Schools if denied, in order for you to have rest of mind on your Children in the future.
You just need to endure till 2023, when you will have another opportunity to speak out with your votes and we promise, to continue to be your Watchdog in all areas of governance which effect your individual life.

01 Feb 2020r. Ajimobi didn’t pay for the students waec fees. The parents paid for their wards waec fees. And it is too early to judge Seyi. Before I can judge him, it has to be after two years in office. Ajimobi was free to spend local government’s money for eight good years which Seyi lack, and still he is still performing creditably.
