Access To Basic Care Homes teenagers win top prize at Talents huntcompetition

Two teenagers, Arike Oladeji and Ayomide Obawemimo ofthe Access to Basic Medical Care (ABC) Homes at the weekend clinched two top prizes at the Grand Finale of a talent hunt for Orphans, Vulnerable children and Children with Special Needs competition.

The competition, described as a talent show for Orphans and Vulnerable children was held at Jogor Centre, Ibadan, Oyo State by Winnies Castle of Love Orphanage Home. The competition was in five categories while the best in each category was given N100, 000, N50,000 and N30,000 respectively.

Arike won the Grand Prize in the music category while Ayomide won the 2nd position in the Art category.

Reacting, founder of ABC homes, Dr (Mrs) Florence Ajimobiexpressed joy at the performance of the two teenagers. According to her, “the children should be encouraged to maximise their potentials and that is what we try to do in ABC homes.”

Mrs Ajimobi who is also the President of the Senator AbiolaAjimobi Foundation (SAAF) expressed appreciation to the talent hunt organisers as such competitions tend to bring out the best in the children and give them a sense of belonging.
