Governor Akeredolu’s passage, a colossal loss, says Florence Ajimobi
Wife of former Oyo State governor and President of the Senator Abiola Ajimobi Foundation (SAAF), Dr (Mrs.) Florence Ajimobi has described the death of the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu as a colossal loss to his immediate family, the people of Ondo State, Yorubaland and Nigeria.
Mrs Ajimobi noted that Governor Akeredolu will always be remembered for his dogged fight for democracy, defence of the South West and his impactful tenure in Ondo State.
In a condolence message to the family and people of Ondo State, she urged them to take solace in the good work that Arakunrin Akeredolu would always be remembered for. Quoting the words of former South African iconic leader, Nelson Mandela, “Death is something inevitable. When a man has done what he considers to be his duty to his people and his country, he can rest in peace”.
“Governor Akeredolu has done his duty for his people and he will sleep for the eternity”, she said.
Mrs Ajimobi urged the people of Ondo State to find ways of immortalising the Governor whose tenure witnessed peace and harmony among the people in spite of the insecurity in the land.
“My heartfelt condolences go to his immediate family, political associates, the people of the State and those whose life have been positively impactedin the course of his stewardship as governor”, she said.
