HIJRA 1446: SENATOR BUHARI CALLS FOR TOTAL SUBMISSION TO ALLAH BY NIGERIANS

As today marks the beginning of New Islamic year 1446 for Muslims all over the world, The Senator representing the people of Oyo North, Dr. Buhari Abdulfatai has charged Nigerians to start the year with a total submission to God for His abundant mercy in 1446.

Senator Buhari made this appeal in his new year message to people of Oyo North Senatorial District, Oyo State and Nigeria at large in a release issued and made available to journalists in the early hours of today at Abuja.

According to the Lawmaker, today 1st of Muharram 1446 is a day Muslims are expected to dedicate to prayers so that the New Islamic Year will be full of greater accomplishments not only for individuals but for the nation as a whole.

While referencing that the annual event of Hijra became memorable as a result of migration of Prophet Muhammad, SAW from the Holy Land of Mecca to Medina, Senator Buhari said the occasion of the 1446 Hijra should be used by Muslims across Nigeria for reflection, prayer and renewal of their faith and trust in Him for a better tomorrow.

Senator Buhari prayed for all Muslims especially those in Oyo North, Oyo State and Nigeria in general that the New year shall usher in greater achievements and be full of good news from the beginning to its end.

“Let us all refrain from all our shortcomings but remain pious as the new year begins and do not forget to move closer to God so that our affairs as a nation can be made to be easier”, Senator Buhari said.
