Ibadan North Deserves Better
As they say, time waits for no one and it sometimes ticks faster than we think. Everything has got a life span and for political office holders, they have a tenure during which they are expected to touch the lives of people and impact on them positively.
For proper representation and in order to enjoy dividends of democracy, the people have the luxury of leaders; Governor, Senator, Federal representative and Local Government Chairman, in that order. In Ibadan North, can we say we are blessed or challenged?
While other federal constituencies are counting their gains of proper representation, we at Ibadan North can only wail our lamentations. No proper and detailed empowerment that could provide constituents with vocational trainings that would improve their living standard. No construction of classrooms for our children or primary health centers for our teeming population. A walk through our constituencies will see constituents wishing they belonged to other constituencies because of the largesse and proper representation being enjoyed there!
It is not enough to complain about what is not working, it is pertinent to try to effect the change! Politics is about participation but governance is about responsibility. Being responsible to the plight of the people that elected you, changing their lives for the better. In the words of late former Governor of Oyo State, Sen. Abiola Ajimobi, “a good leader takes the people where they want to be but a great leader takes the people where they ought to be” . It is my goal to not only deliver proper representation to my good people in Ibadan North by sponsoring bills that would better their lives, it is also my desire to improve their lives through proper empowerment, provision of physical structures that will aid teaching and learning end ensure the health of the people are also attended to by ensuring primary health care centers are provided and equipped.
It is with all these in mind and taking account of the challenges that I have outlined that I have decided to answer the call of teeming youths and our elders that form the exciting Ibadan North population who have asked me to run for the office of the Ibadan North Federal Constituency.
Accordingly, I hereby announce my intention to run for a seat at the National Assembly to represent Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the coming General Elections in 2023 on the platform of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC). I do so with the firm conviction that I have what it takes to ensure inclusive growth, proper representation and even development for the good people of Ibadan North.
Thank you and God bless you
