Speaking at the event, the Engr Olasunkanmi Tegbe said he started the Foundation over 6 years ago because he felt the need to give back to the society by alleviating the sufferings of the less-privileged, support the aged, indigents and the widows. He noted that the foundation is non-partisan in nature, and has assisted thousands of Oyo State indigenes and residents. He assured that he will continue to provide support and encouraged the needy to reach out to the Foundation through the Coordinators in the various local governments.
Prayers were held for the widows by various religious clerics. The event had in attendance religious leaders, elected Local Government Chairmen and other notable politicians
The Widows Relief is being held across different zones of the state on a rotational basis. Previous editions have been held in Ibadan and Oyo.
