Oyo’s Federal lawmaker explains efforts in fixing Oke-Ogun Road network

… From Iseyin to Ipapo to okaka and then on to Ago are and up to Saki, Ago – Are, Oje – Owode, Ago – Amodu, Sepeteri up to Igboho comprehensively rehabilitated

Hon Olajide Olatubosun, the member representing Atisbo/ Saki – East / Saki- West (Saki East/Saki West federal constituency in the House of Representatives is an epitome of quality representation and one the best lawmakers in the current dispensation.

In a sit-down with our correspondent at OyoToday, he took us down memory lane of how his legislative advocacy and intervention which began in 2017, have yielded positive results with the massive and comprehensive repair and maintenance of Federal Roads in the Oke – Ogun area of Oyo state which represents 10 of the 33 local government areas in Oyo State.

From Iseyin to Ipapo to okaka and then on to Ago are and up to Saki it’s being a new lease of life for the people of Oke – Ogun area, as they can now travel to other parts of the state without stress.

The roads from  Ago – Are, Oje – Owode, Ago – Amodu, Sepeteri up to Igboho has also been comprehensively rehabilitated.

And work is currently on – going on  Igboho – Igbeti road, while discussion have reached advanced stage for the work on Igboho – Kishi road

The lawmaker said he used the instrumentality of legislative intervention to facilitate the massive and comprehensive repair and maintenance of the Federal Roads in the Oke – Ogun area.

“For me as a member of the federal parliament, it’s one of the ways I can intervene to ensure that my people have a better quality life.”

Asked on the process leading to the massive intervention by the Federal ministry of works, the lawmaker has this to say:

“In 2017, during a joint budget session by the House and the Senate, I told HE Babatunde Fashola, the Hon. Minister of Works and Housing, that the roads in the entire Oke – Ogun area were constructed by the Western region Government and I grew up to know them in the early seventies, and that no serious attempt has been made to maintain or fix the roads which have become a daily nightmare for my people travelling to other parts of the state and beyond.
